The 2026 NIU FQiX 150 electric scooter, my overall verdict is very good for city use, especially if you want to purchase something modern, economical and easy to ride. 

NIU FQiX 150 — The Review 

My rating: 9.5/10 

Pros 

• Very quick acceleration for a 45 km/h scooter — up to 3,800W peak power.  
• 45 km/h top speed, making it considerably more capable than a basic 25 km/h electric scooter.  
• Removable 72V 28Ah battery, so you can take it indoors to charge. 
• With two batteries, NIU quotes up to 110 km range; one battery is supplied as standard the other one is an add-on if you which to purchase another battery although it’s not recommended since one battery alone weighs 15.4kg and thus adds considerable weight to the vehicle.  
• About 3 hours to charge one battery so it’s quite a fast charging battery.  
• Traction control, CBS braking and rear radar are excellent safety features for a small urban scooter.  
• Excellent technology: navigation, Bluetooth, GPS tracking, NFC key, NIU app connectivity and smart unlocking as well as radar/blind-spot detection which is a very good safety feature.  
• USB charging port where one can easily charge the phone.
• Riding modes: Eco/Comfort/Sports/Spots+/Master/Wet
• 31-litre under-seat storage, enough for a full-face helmet.  
• 14-inch wheels make it more stable and comfortable over typical urban roads. 
• Dashboard consists of a 5” full colour display TFT screen which is clearly visible in broad daylight. 
• Regular price 3099EUR Government Grant available – 2000EUR rebate and an additional 1000EUR grant for scrappage.   

Bottom line 

Finally, the FQiX 150 is the best option for Malta. It’s stylish, modern and very practical. The instant electric torque and compact size are particularly useful in traffic. The scooter comes with an app which can be easily linked to the phone. One can easily find the location of the scooter. Moreover, one can also play music on Apple Music or Spotify or even know the battery level from a different location.
