Lillian Bricker lives in Ohio with her significant other and her dog, Snowball. She works full-time as a coding specialist for an Orthopaedic doctor’s office. She has DiGeorge Syndrome, which is a chromosome deficiency, but she has not let that stop her. She has graduated high school and college, learned how to drive, and has achieved her aspirations.

She has had many scary medical issues happen in her life, but the latest one she can remember is surviving a schwannoma tumour that was growing on her spinal cord and was attached to her heart. She was in and out of the hospital four time between November 2022 to January 2023. It has helped change her perspective on life.

Since she was eleven years old, she has dreamt about becoming an author. She wrote short stories on Wattpad. They are properly edited, but they are a testimony to how far she come as a writer. Her mother used to take her to writing conventions to talk to other authors and gain guidance from different publishers. She spent her medical leaving writing book to put it out into the world for people to enjoy. To be able to achieve this childhood goal has really been a blessing.

Tell me more about your latest book

My latest book is Burn like Beacon (Book one of the Elemental Chronicles). The realm within the book has been fifteen yearlong projects of mine. I have documents from 2013 for this realm and it’s really cool to look inside my younger brain.

What was the most challenging aspect of writing this book?

The most challenging aspect of writing was getting over my nervous and fears about what other people would think. Not every book is going to be for every person. Brene Brown says “Do not be afraid to step into the that arena.”

What is your normal procedure to get your books published?

I have a publishing house. The steps I was told are four weeks prior to launch, we announce my launch day and post every day for a week about it. Three weeks prior to launch, we send it out to my ARC readers and a pre-order link is available. Two weeks prior to my launch, my cover reveal and we post daily reminders about the cover reveal on my social media. Launch week is very important and we post every day about my book.

How important are the elements of character, setting, and atmosphere to a story, and why?

The setting of the story is very import because it is the backdrop of which the narrative unfolds and helps create a vivid mental image. These elements help an author bring their story to life for the readers

How many books have you written so far?

I have only written one story so far: Burn like a Beacon.

However, I plain to write four books for the Elemental Chronicles series: Burn like a Beacon, Fly like a Butterfly, Grow like a Dandelion, and Rise like the Tide.

What’s the best way to market your books?

The best way to market my book right now is using my personal assistant (PA) to the best of my abilities. I am also getting people of on Booksgram to review my book. I also do interviews like this one and agree to be on podcast.

What is your writing routine? When you write, do you plan or outline ahead

Sometimes I plan an outline, but other times I just write the scene that is trapped in my head. When I do write, I have my warm cup of tea ready and comfy blanket on my lap. I tend to listen to lilsimsie or another twitch streamer in the background..

How hard or easy is it to establish and maintain a career in writing?

It was hard to establish a writing career, but I do not really need the money off my books. I write because it helps establish who I am as a person.

What is your advice for aspiring writers?

Not every book will be for every person, but there will always be readers. Just write the story you want write and the readers will come.
