Interview with Kimally Samuels

Author Kimally Samuels is an optimistic person and a dreamer.   She is passionate about people and enjoy spending her time with her family and friends.   The idea of writing a book was inspired by her nieces and nephews which range from age 2-14 years old; watching them go through developmental tasks and remembering her own experiences and the struggles with learning life lessons.  The main character’s name, Micah is the nickname of her mother. The book and character are dedicated to her.

Tell me more about your latest book

Micah and the Vase: A Child’s Book About Honesty is a practical book about a child learning a lesson related to integrity and honesty.  It resonates with your heart when you read it.  The most challenging part about writing the book was capturing the story with the illustrations, I had a totally different version of the book with illustrations that I did not like so I didn’t publish it.    Writing for me can be spiritual and I believe Micah and the Vase has finally opened that creative part of me that sat dormant.  Micah and the Vase is my first book.

What’s the best way to market your books?

I am still learning about ways to market my book.  Every day I post something on my social media, or I randomly share the book with others.  This has been proven successful since initially I didn’t write the book for any specific reason, except to be able to add “author” to my resume.

What is your advice for aspiring writers?

My advice to aspiring writers is if you want to write, do it.  Writing requires action, without action it is just a dream.  Follow through.  You have everything you need inside of you, if anyone else can do it,  so can you.  The blueprint has already been written.  God Bless.
