Interview with Author Gregory Booker

Author Gregory Booker was born in Georgia and raised in Chicago Illinois, studied at DePaul University in music and business for 4 years. Then accepted an offer by the Dept of Defense for a certified Quality Assurance Representative responsible for auditing manufacturing processes for product compliance and authorizing payment on behalf of the Govt. This was his career job acquiring 35 years of service before retiring. However, in his late 30’s due to an intense interest in prophecy, Gregory started a private study of biblical prophecy while also reading a variety of christian based related books by Hal Lindsay, Tim Lahaye and Vernon McGee others along with biblical study, as a result he began to gain great deal of knowledge in the word of God. Due this prophetic saturation, Gregory became moved to write while not being a writer and he confess never desired to be one. Greogry thought it rather boring and what he saw of his own life story didn’t help.

Most of his church experience was as a child in Sunday school, but he has received a certificate of ordination from Ministerial Seminary of America (MSA) for non-denominational churches while serving as pianist for many churches particularly in El Paso TX., after moving there in 1999 from Rockford Ill.

Touched by God in 1991, Gregory was led to write his very first book that came to him in the form of letters based on study and dialogue. Each of the letters were spaced about 3 months apart ultimately producing seven distinctive letters culminated into his book titled “ Seven Letters Detailing the Prophetic Framework of the Return of Christ.” A striking piece of work having such a bold title and written in 1991. He began to realize he was having an experience and it was to be shared. It was a rather odd thought for him to think but he was hearing a voice “ Tell the people, tell the people..Tell your people”. This experience is shared in the book. He showed his pastor, the first three letters written at that time and he called the work a revelation. He prayed over him and anointed him as using the gift of prophecy. This is how the book began to take form and Gregory now serves the Lord through his writings and self-title himself as a minister of the prophetic word. He is married and blessed with 4 adult children.

Tell me more about your latest book

My latest book is actually a reprinted and republished effort combining my two earlier books into my second edition of 2022. It merges the previous edition of Seven Letters with my second book titled “Inspired Writings of a prophet for Jesus the Christ” This is a non-fiction effort solidly christian based book designed to revive the Hope by forewarning and forearming our faith. This book I am made to see 7 unique signs that describe the season of Christ coming for His Church the Bride in 1991. It is now 30 years later and is worthy of republishing. Here is my basic thought: I have often asked the question, ” Why have the Nation of Israel received no glory for their blood, sweat and tears as inspired by their relationship with God, yet by their error were we the Gentiles offer salvation without being put to the same test as they were?” This is what the HolySpirit has allowed me to see, but only because I asked the question. I now know that God’s righteousness is pure and just. There is indeed a spiritual battle in our midst. Who would resist Christ second coming more than anyone else? None more than Satan, who can work his deception on anyone who is unaware of the truth from God. First the Jew now the time has come for the Gentile to tried and God will redeem Israel from a world of unbelief by His grace as written in Romans Ch 11. If you fear the question, you stand never to receive the answer and the answer is only as good as the question you ask. I have given you an answer though you ask me no question. I only seek to plant a seed of concern. See ST.John 16:13 and Peter18-21.

Written by a man distant from Church but who had a deep interest in wanting to know biblical prophecy. He shares his testimony and how God answered his prayers to understand and believe the reality of such an event.

What was the most challenging aspect of writing this book?

Thinking of myself being called by God for such a glorious declaration in writing. It was refreshing to me in every aspect. As a writer, as a student of prophecy, as a minister. He truly has taken the average Joe so to speak and made the most out of a somebody nobody knows but God.

What is your normal procedure to get your books published?

You must think the process through and through and be ready to invest in yourself. The keyword is invest. I am somewhat alarmed by how many people want to write, publish and market books with out bearing any cost. On-line services does make a lot of the process possible but I do feel you need a team of supporters to help maximize sharing your story successfully.

Do you view writing as a kind of spiritual practice?

Creative to me writing requires one of two basic mental forethoughts. It’s either inspiration or imagination. Then there are technical writers and storytellers and reporters such as analyst. Pick the one you want to be and earn it.

How many books have you written so far?

I have written two books, but published three.

1. Seven Letter Detailing the Prophetic Framework of the Return of Christ.

2.) Inspired Writings of a prophet for Jesus the Christ

3) This is the Reprinted Version merging books 1& 2 into one book keeping the original title of the first book “Seven Letters Detailing the Prophetic Framework of the Return of Christ.

What’s the best way to market your books?

Some editing and comments were added but minimal changes were made to maintain creditability of work.

How hard or easy is it to establish and maintain a career in writing?

I can’t answer that since it was not my career. I believe reading is central to writing. Comprehension and consumption of words will empower the art of writings and it will feed the mind fresh ideas fiction or non-fiction. We have a wealth of written history at our disposal and our imagination is constantly pushed to the edge with our TV and other technologies
