Tell me more about your latest book.

I have several. My latest book is the second edition of “Sekhm Energy Healing,” Egyptian reiki. A system that goes back to Egyptian roots and deals with the cosmic Sekhm energy is a system that I developed to be free (no charge for sending energy or for initiations). I just sell the book.

What was the most challenging aspect of writing this book?

I had to do a lot of research and keep the information consistent and solid. On the last pages, there are medical and scientific studies done on patients that look at remote energy healing and prayers at distance.

What is your normal procedure to get your books published?

I have already published with a traditional publisher in Portugal. It gives more prominence to our name and work. But it has some disadvantages: we lose creative freedom; there are no very explicit contracts; we only receive 10% of the copyright revenue; and it can take 6 months or a year to be paid. Now I just self-publish, put books on Amazon or Scribd, get up to 70% commission every month, and I have full creative freedom. I convert them to ePub and A5 paperback format and put on Amazon and other platforms.

Do you view writing as a kind of spiritual practice?

Yes, certainly. By the way, my books are about esotericism and spirituality (smile). I have been writing about these topics since I was 16 years old. And currently, I collaborate with texts for an esoteric magazine in Portugal called “Boa Estrela”. For me, writing is sharing knowledge; it’s reaching another state of consciousness; it’s meditative.

How many books have you written so far?

Many. I started in 2004.

I currently have 11 titles (but adding versions in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, there are a total of 22 books). And I’m working on more.

Some titles (I will cite only titles in English).

“Metaphysics Terminology”

“Metaphysics Terminology 2 -Esoteric Glossary”.

“Sekhm Energy Healing”

“Sekhm Energy Healing 2. Levels I, II and III”.

“Egyptian Magic”.

“Quantum Magic”

“Holographic Reality -Do we live in a Simulation?”

“Anavarana- Rewriting Reality”.

Others are in Spanish and Portuguese.

I’m writing one about Remote Viewing.

What’s the best way to market your books?

I promote my books on my blogs and websites and in facebook groups, selling on platforms like Amazon, Kobo, Scribd, and Smashwords.

Then I see, depending on the results and sales, which are the best. I can say that I had bad results with Lulu and with Google Play books. Some platforms are not honest. Amazon, Scribd, and Draft2Digital are good.

How hard or easy is it to establish and maintain a career in writing?

I don’t make a living from writing. Maybe someday in the long run. This requires time and dedication. You can only make a living from writing if you write a long seller or best seller that sells millions of copies. I write part-time, I have another job. But there are some cases of people who make a living from writing. Yes, with a few years of dedication and delivery, if they write successful books.

What is your advice for aspiring writers?

Study the publishing market carefully. Analyse the pros and cons. Be cautious. Self-publishing does not always require an investment. If you practice using eBook conversion software and Photoshop for cover design, you can produce books at no cost. Then self-publish on online platforms. For example, Amazon reaches millions of readers and promotes your book in more than 170 countries.

Keep writing and perfecting your writing without giving up on your dream.
