Interview with Monique Groves
Author Monique Groves is an entrepreneur, investor, and author. In 2020, she began her journey as an author after several years of romancing about the idea of being a writer. After coming across a YouTube ad about being a self-published author on Amazon, she finally felt urged to start writing. Initially, she did not have any long-term goals as she just wanted to write a book and publish it on Amazon. When she released her first book “How to Overcome a Bad Breakup”, Monique was super excited and wanted to publish more books. Shortly after launching her first book, she decided to start her own publishing company “Blessed and Highly Favored Publishing, LLC” where she would go on to launch her online bookstore Inspired Readers.
She would go on to write several other books all primarily focused on Christian-based content. Her overall vision and mission is to encourage both believers in Christ and unbelievers to turn to God for hope, direction, and salvation. As a writer, she is inspired by God to share what the Lord has shared with her regarding his word as well as her experience in applying the word of God in her life. Since she became a born-again Christian, her life has been transformed by the power of God and she is honored to be saved by his grace and unyielding love.
Tell me more about your latest book
This Too Shall Pass is an inspirational book to help guide readers overcome life difficulties. This book was inspired both by God and my life storms. Before writing this book, God repeatedly impressed upon me that a challenge I was facing would be coming to an end. Thus, I begin to reflect on the past and how God had always given me hope and guidance in the worst times in my life. Thus this book guides readers back to the good news of Jesus Christ to encourage them that Jesus will always help us in times of pain, heartbreak, and economic setback.
What was the most challenging aspect of writing this book?
The most challenging aspect of writing this book was sharing my story and getting very personal. In this book, I share my testimony about my experiences with Jesus Christ which was a great reminder for me. At the same time, I had to relive some past hurts and difficulties but in the end I came out of this book realizing that truly all things work together for my good.
What is your normal procedure to get your books published?
My normal procedure to get my books published is very simple. Once my books are complete (editing/design/formatting) I publish the book on my website www.shereepublishing.com.
I have a team of consultants that I partner with for all my books and this is extremely helpful for me to make sure my product is one of high quality.
Do you view writing as a kind of spiritual practice?
Absolutely. Writing for me is extremely spiritual. Given that I am a born-again Christian I lean on my heavenly father to guide me through the writing process. God will bless me with an idea and then I will seek out from God what he wants to be to talk about from that idea.

The best way to market my books is through my social media network. I also utilize paid advertising through Facebook ads.
How hard or easy is it to establish and maintain a career in writing?
Maintaining a career in writing is dependent on the writer, so this could be easy or challenging. Establishing a writing career may be challenging because it can be hard to get started. I wanted to tell my story so I just began to write everyday. Writing is now a purpose for me so I truly enjoy it.
What is your advice for aspiring writers?
Just start writing and write every day.
