Interview with Author Anita Kirk

45 years old, Author Anita Kirk lives in the UK; her hometown Yorkshire is a very friendly and welcoming place. She started writing as a hobby in between her full-time job that she has been doing for 25 years. About 10 years ago, she started her amazing writing journey and found out that she loves it. She thought that it was easy, and everybody could do this. “I soon found out that not everybody could do this, and it must be a talent that comes naturally to me and I really enjoy doing this to give other people enjoyment as much as I did writing my books”, stated Author Anita Kirk in this introduction to this interview.
Tell me more about your latest book
My latest book that I have published, ‘Christmas Sparkles’ is a story for the world to enjoy with Christmas fairies helping Father Christmas and his elves to get enough people off the naughty list so that his sleigh can fly, with them collecting rainbow coins from all over the world flying as sparkles and a young family have their lives changed for the better, with much more inside.
What was the most challenging aspect of writing this book?
I loved writing this book, the most challenging part was making it slot together like a jigsaw puzzle, with everything slotting into the correct place, to make the story flow very well from start to finish, with the story connecting with things happening at the start, right to the end seamlessly.
What is your normal procedure to get your books published?
I normally self-publish on amazon so that my books are available to the world for free on amazon kindle unlimited and they are readily available on paper for people to order from wherever in the world they live, I hope that one day a big publishing company or a film company notices my books, and they would want to help me get better known or turn them into films.
Do you view writing as a kind of spiritual practice?
I view writing as a passion and time out of the real world that I love doing for my enjoyment and keep my brain on its toes what to put next, I enjoy travelling into my own make-believe world, full of amazing new characters, places, and more, my new characters can do amazing different things that you could never do in real life and some of it is true to everyday life.
How many books have you written so far?
I have written 3 books up to now.
Christmas Sparkles
Sexy Shenanigans
In a Quarter of a second and the glowing rings
What’s the best way to market your books?
I have found that the best way up to now is to market my books on social media and ask people nicely if they would share my books with others, and when I get lovely comments from people on social media, I would mention that I would be grateful of a review if they enjoyed reading my books to let others know how enjoyable that they are.
How hard or easy is it to establish and maintain a career in writing?
I do find it hard working full time and writing because my job is very physical that makes me feel exhausted when I get home, as soon as I walk into my home from work, I pick up my iPad and start writing to try to take my mind off the hectic day that I have had.
Writing comes natural and easy to me, it is like I have done it all of my life, I find that it is an expensive hobby, and I feel rewarded and happy with every review that I read that is left for me and my potential future buyers to enjoy, I find the hardest part is to get people that my books are available.
What is your advice for aspiring writers?
My advice for other aspiring writers is to let your writing flow and write what you want to write.
