Interview with Author Celeste Stacy

Author Celeste Stacy is a transgender woman, who lives somewhere in Ohio. Although she has lived there all her life, she has done extensive traveling abroad. As such, she has a very broad view of the world and the people who live here. Her belief is that we all are children of the Earth and that everyone should live in peace and harmony. She currently shares her life with her loving wife, their three adult sons and grandkids.

Celeste began writing books in an unusual manner. She first starred in a low budget horror film that has yet to be published. Then became interested in acting, and while attending college, her English instructor loved her short stories so much as to encourage her to pursue writing instead of the medical profession.

Tell me more about your latest book

My Book Blurb: Citizens of the IlluminaRtie – people from another world who have lived on Earth for thousands of years. They are policed by Black Queen and her motley team, the SAI, who seek to keep the four factions from breaking out into all-out war without causing too much mayhem themselves. Thus, her goal is consolidating her power and reuniting with her damaged battle station, the Blackstar, in the asteroid belt. But first, she must get her new team up to speed.

What was the most challenging aspect of writing this book?

Time, before the covid19 outbreak I was more than half done writing SAI-Secret Agents of the IlluminaRti. But working at a food plant overtime kicked in and found myself working 14 hours every day. Had to use up my vacation time to complete book one.

What is your normal procedure to get your books published?

Write the book, proof read and edit constantly. Have third parties proof the book and use a professional editing service. Then publish on Amazon, Ingram spark or whomever you plan to go with.

Do you view writing as a kind of spiritual practice?

Kinda, while working I would keep notes of story ideas that would pop into my head. I would always be giddy and chuckling to myself throughout the day. Then I would translate those ideas into the story.

How many books have you written so far?

Two completed another that is a third of the way started. 2nd in my first series titled; SAI-Secret Agents of the IlluminaRti will soon be published (Book Two), Tales of the IlluminaRti (my third) is just started, all of these are Novellas. Now “Tales” will be more of the dime store novel type books and those will be shorter in length (80-90pages)My first Novel length book series will hopefully be out some time late next year. Titled “Martian Twilight and the Niche of Time” which will be a fantasy type series.

What’s the best way to market your books?

Still discovering that myself. But would say making connections online in all the book & Author forums, as well as setting up promotions on amazon and with google. Using all social media platforms has increased my book sales.

How hard or easy is it to establish and maintain a career in writing?

Wouldn’t say hard or easy but more like complex. YouTube helped a lot.

What is your advice for aspiring writers?

Write whatever pops into your head. Build connections online with like minded people. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that your writings are garbage and learn to take constructive criticisms.  Follow your hopes and dreams.

I read the book, and I found funny, exciting and overall enjoyable. Lots of unexpected twists and turns as well as some tongue in cheek humor. It moves along without any lags. I am looking forward to the next book. I recommend reading this book or listening to the audible version.
