Interview with La Tonya Sutton
Evangelist LaTonya D. Sutton is a certified/licensed Evangelist with London Winters Ministries out of Detroit, Michigan. She is a proud and devoted Woman of God and mother to her son. They both currently reside in Detroit, Michigan. Her first book, Letters to My Angels: 100 Days of Love, Inspiration and Encouragement, is set for release this year. LaTonya believes that she has been ministering to others for her entire life. She has had to overcome many struggles and battles throughout her life being born with Cerebral Palsy. But through her faith in God and perseverance, LaTonya has never allowed the stigma of being labeled with a birth defect to define who she truly is. “It is my mission in life to remove the stigma of labels for people with disabilities. God can use ANYONE! I choose to allow my birth defect to spur me on to higher heights, not hold me hostage. When people look at me, I want them to see victory in the face of adversity! Where others see obstacles, I only see opportunities!”
I believe that the thing that makes my ministry different from most is that I speak to the everyman. My messages impact those who are extremely well-versed in the Word of God as well as those who have never opened a Bible or stepped foot in a church. I truly believe that I was created by design to impact the world for the glory of God!
Ramona: Tell me more about your latest book
La Tonya Sutton: “Letters to my Angels” is definitely a labor of love. It started out as daily posts on my social media accounts. I really felt the desire to encourage others who may have been going through some tough times and letting them know that they were not alone and that they could get through it as I have so many times. I developed such a following that many people asked if I had ever considered turning my daily posts into a book. I had never really thought about it before, but after some thought I realized that I could reach more people and impact more lives by actually turning my posts into a book.
Ramona: What was the most challenging aspect of writing this book?
La Tonya Sutton: The most challenging aspect of writing this book, I would have to say was staying motivated and seeing it through to completion. I was faced with many distractions while bringing this vision to life.
Ramona: What kind of research did you do for this book and how long it took all the whole process until publication?
La Tonya Sutton: This book actually originated from personal experiences. The research would have to be my life. I started journaling as a child as a way to find my voice. Being born with a birth defect can make things very difficult so I spent a lot of time alone and as a result in order to deal with all of my feelings, I would write and that is basically how this book came into existence. I never had a desire to become an author but my love writing pretty much opened the door for me. The entire process took approximately three years to full completion.
Ramona: What motivated you to become an author?
La Tonya Sutton: My motivation to become an author honestly was through the urging of others. When I began to see what a profound affect my writing was having on others, it only made sense that becoming an author was part of my calling.
Ramona: How many books have you written so far?
La Tonya Sutton: “Letters to my Angels” is my very first book.
Ramona: What book or books have had a strong influence on you or your writing?
La Tonya Sutton: The Bible has been the book that has had the strongest influence on my life as well as my writing.
Ramona: From your own experience, what is your advice for aspiring writers?
La Tonya Sutton: If it is your desire to be a writer, stick with it! There are people who need to hear what has been placed on your heart. Never give up on your dream. Your desire to write was placed in your heart for a reason and that reason needs to be for filled. The heart NEVER lies!

Congratulations Evangelist LaTonya D. Stutton!!
Your messages, centered on the word of God, brings hope to people with “defects” in all areas of their lives. May God continue to deposit in your heart. May his light shine upon you. May you continue to use HIS golden pen to encourage and spread HIS word.
I have been following you for quite some time. Your unchanging mission to bring the word of God to the four corners of the earth, is a mark of your obedience to HIM. Your commitment to live in HIS purpose is infectious. Your selfless love for others has allowed you to cross many socioeconomic barriers. You are a living testimony of what God can do when we surrender to Him with a genuine heart.
As I read the interview, I thought about your strength and your commitment to help everyone free themselves from their own version of defects and brokenness.
May God’s words continue to “bubble” out of your heart like a fresh spring quenching the thirst of those who seek HIM. May God continue to keep you transparent and polish you with HIS speed that is deeply rooted in your heart.
You have helped so many people in so many ways. On behalf of those who are seeking God and those who have broken a relationship with HIM, I thank you for your surrender to stand in the gap.
Your daily posts are layered with the word of God, as it floods the hearts and minds of many, thus transforming lives for Jesus.
You are a soldier. You have waived your personal challenges to win souls for Jesus. You are a positive example of an overcomer. You are a mother to many including myself.
The scriptures you shared, have helped me during difficult times. I love the way to connect real life examples to God’s word. You break it down, so everyone can participate, from the babes to the most advance. You have “kept it real” with boldness and confidence. Most of all, you are consistent and grounded in the Word.
I am very proud of you and thank you so much for sharing. Thank you for directing us to God’s word.
I look forward to reading the first book and the series!!!
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. (Psalm 1:1) NKJV
